How to do serverless machine learning with scikit-learn on AWS
Lyudmila Dezhkina Team Lead, Senior Developer at DataArt
AWS SageMaker is “Machine Learning as a Service”. The goal of this talk is showing how to build serverless architecture via SageMaker API and overview of built-in models and frameworks.
I will show how to:
1) launch model training
2) store model and data on S3
3) deploy and serve the model with a REST API
As a result, I will explain advantages and disadvantages of fast start and Also I will touch base how it can be customized and how to use your own algorithms
Time series: why forecasting is not easy
Oleksandr Konduforov, Data Science competence leader in AltexSoft.
Time series is special type of data, and not all approaches and prediction algorithms we are familiar with, are suitable for them. Special decomposition, validation methods and predictive models are created to work with them. Despite of this, it's not that easy to achieve good prediction accuracy. In this talk we will overlook different prediction methods with their strong and weak sides.
Interpretable machine learning models
Vlad Kolbasin, Lead Data Scientist in GlobalLogic.
In this talk we are going to take a look at interpretable machine learning models, why we need them and what it actually means to interpret a model. I will give an overview of the approaches and libraries for models’ explanation and analysis both in the white-box and in the black-box representation. We are also going to take a look at the example of how analysis helps to improve the quality of a specific model.
Building intelligent apps with Microsoft AI platform
Oleksandr Krakovetskyi, Microsoft Regional Director, Software Engineer, and Architect in Kyiv city, Ukraine
Microsoft AI platform contains a lot of tools and services allowing to add intelligence to software solutions. You can choose from big range of pre-built models with Azure ML Studio and Azure Cognitive Services or create an own model with ML.NET. Or even use Automated Machine Learning that was recently annonced. In this presentation we will talk about different scenarios (computer vision, chatbots, NLP tasks) on top of Microsoft AI platform.
Building Neural Tagger for Natural Texts from Scratch
Artem Chernodub, Senior Research Engineer at Grammarly and Associate Professor at UCU
In our talk, we will focus on solving the well-known problem in NLP, namely, word sequence tagging problem using neural networks approach. We will study task decomposition for “mainstream” BiLSTM+CNN+CRF model and explore the internal design of its component. We will discuss how to implement it on PyTorch “from scratch” and obtain near-state-of-the-art results for NER 2003 shared task dataset.
Azure Cognitive Services for images recognition 101
Anton Boyko, Founder, Senior Speaker at Ukrainian Microsoft Azure Community and DevOps Evangelist
The main advantage of services over frameworks is that they provide you with ability to work on something the next moment after you have created the service. A service can be trained the same way as a framework. The same way as a framework does, a service can continue learning by itself while it is running live. During my session I will show how you can easily start with your own custom image recognition just in a few minutes.
When you should(not) use ML
Andrey Sorokin, Software engineer at DataArt, Voronezh
I will discuss why we program computers and how paradigm shifted from conventional programming towards machine learning. In the second part I will give examples of why it is not a silver bullet for every problem and whether it makes sense to apply ML methods and how. The second part will be devoted towards typical ML use cases in image recognition, healthcare, finances, and robotics.

NI ÞML ÌAI (Of AI and men)
Anton Dolgikh, Head of AI, Healthcare and Life Sciences, DataArt
We are going to discuss the meaning of the very AI and the path it has walked since the birth to the nowadays. We will talk about the problems that AI creates and the problems that AI helps to overcome; how AI plays the God and what is the role of mobile devices in AI proliferation and empowerment. And finally we will see how the sci-fi authors’ dreams become the part of our every-day life.
